New WordPress Interface (again) (0)
Looks like WordPress is going through yet another backend redesign (flickr photo of it). It is now in WordPress 2.7-hemorrhage and has a brand new vertical-style navigation pane, as well as its legendary gray top-bar. See this post and this post for other people’s opinions. It seems that a lot of the pages are getting a redesign too, a notable one would be the recognizing of Dashboard and writing widgets (finally!!!). You can view this post, which lists a bunch of 2.7 features. I am looking forward to 2.7, but as I said, I still cannot stand this.

I just uploaded the latest nightly build of WordPress for the first time in 3 days, and they have completely redone the admin backend–AGAIN. I mean seriously, it is pretty gross. It deffinitely needs some fine tuning. Not sure I will get used to the reorginization. There is now a “Content” “tab” (if you can call it that), as well as the “Templates” and “Utilities” sections. Everything is now on the left side with no more stff on the top. A non-functional search bar is up there too–search the backend or site? There is an Inbox tab that is also non-functional. It will be interesting to see what these will become. I won’t deviate back to WP 2.6, but I hope they either get rid of this or fix its quirks fast. Not sure if I can get used to it. Plus no more Ozh’s drop down menu.
WordPress 2.6.1 is out and fixes a bunch of errors with right-to-left within the admin panel, IIS errors, and a bunch of smaller bug fixes (including some with the Press This feature) that most people don't need to worry about. 2.7 is still chugging along. (0)
Still doing some testing on bbPress 1.0a1. It is working great and I really like it, except that Pretty Permalinks STILL don't work on my server. Sigh. Someday....hopefully. (0)

Gave Drupal a shot on my localhost. I kinda quit after 15 minutes. The admin panel has too much stuff on it and I am having a hard time navigating through the site. I wish it was as simple as WordPress's directory organization and as beautifully designed as WordPress. I mean seriously, this is a prime case of what happens to a website when the "7 plus or minus 2 links" rule isn't followed---it sucks. (0)
